Clio is proud to present the Clio Conference 2018! This one-day event will be a full day of inspiring speakers, interactive workshops and unique insights into digitalization within International Relations.

The emergence of cyber-attacks and ‘fake news’ have shown that international politics and international relations have changed majorly. Security has moved beyond military capacity and national borders, and has instead become a global issue concerning us all. At the same time, an intense debate about the relationship between privacy and security has emerged, in which corporations such as Facebook have acquired a crucial role in collecting and diffusing information. Additionally, the Digital Age has created an interconnectedness which is beneficial in gaining insights in, and knowledge of the current state of world affairs. Besides, new technologies have helped us to prevent and solve crimes, while the internet has established a forum where like-minded people can join each other to discuss and spread their ideas. In an era where there is constant change, it is necessary to discuss the chances and challenges we're facing in the 21st century.

The Clio Conference 2018 ‘International Relations in a Digital Age: Decoding the Chances and Challenges of the 21st Century’ will take place on Tuesday the 8th of May 2018, and will last for the entire day. However, when choosing your workshops, you are able to indicate whether you want to stay for the entire day, only for the plenary session, or prefer to come later and participate only at the workshops. As the day of our Conference approaches, and all speakers are announced, you will receive a form to submit your workshop preferences. The Conference will take place at the Hampshire Hotel - Plaza Groningen, the lunch will be included in the price of your ticket.

By subscribing to the Conference, you agree that cancellations from the 24th of April 2018 onwards will not result in a reimbursement of the participation fee. You can unsubscribe before the 24th of April by sending an email to congres@clio.nl
