Visa: It is necessary to have a Student Visa in case your stay in Chile will be longer than 90 days. In order for you to obtain your Visa, go to the Chilean Consulate that is nearest to you. Once the application process is over, you will receive an Acceptance Letter from UC which will be necessary for the issuance of your Visa.
Once you are accepted at UC, you will have to apply to a Student Resident VISA at the Chilean Consulate nearest to you. Check the list of Chilean Consulates around the world in the following link Chilean Consulates
The student visa must be issued with the same name that appears on your passport.
After you have arrived to Chile, you must follow these steps:
- Register your VISA at "Policía Internacional" within the first 30 days after your arrival to Chile. Get a Visa registration appointment online at https://reservahorapdi.extranjeria.gob.cl
- For your appointment you must bring your passport and the immigration card you received upon arrival to the address Policía Internacional indicates, contact Email: contacto.jenamig@investigaciones.cl
- Get an appointment to Apply for and get the Chilean ID Card (“carnet de Identidad” CEDULA) for foreigners at the Servicio de Registro Civil e Identificación
Term: The first semester begins in early March and ends in mid-July. On the other hand, the second semester begins in early August and ends in mid-December.
