The Forum Committee are proud to present Olaf Koens as the speaker for the first Forum lecture on the 25th of November! After finishing his study in Groningen he left for Russia, marking the beginning of his extensive career. As a journalist he has worked for major Dutch news outlets and his work field has covered the former Soviet Union countries and currently the Middle East as correspondent for RTL Nieuws.

Olaf Koens will shed a light on the underlying ethics of journalism building from his yearlong experience. What ethical challenges underlie journalism? How do you conduct journalism in a country which is at war, or where the freedom of press is minimal? As a seasoned journalist Olaf Koens can provide firsthand accounts of how he has experienced this himself.
