The programme International Relations and International Organisation (IRIO) is provided at the University of Groningen. The course has a unique position in the Netherlands, being interdisciplinary study combining politics, history, economics, law, and foreign languages (of the students’ choosing). Throughout the study, attention is paid to developing strong writing and analytical skills. While IRSP traditionally attracts many IRIO bachelor students, the programme is also open to motivated students from other academic backgrounds who are enrolled in IRIO master programmes in all forms, as well as related MA, ReMA, and Pre-Master tracks. Students participating in IRSP are typically characterised by strong analytical abilities, a critical mindset, and a habit of questioning rather than taking information for granted.
