Facing Terrorism: Society, Strategy, Security

As one of the most pressing issues of our time, terrorism formed the frame of the 2016 Clio Conference, held on the 3rd of May. Terror bares its claws not only when it comes to attacks on the world's metropoles, its effects are also felt in many other areas such as the displacement of people and religious extremism. Terror leaves its trace in society and fosters a fearful and unpredictable climate of permanent insecurity for everyone in each population. It is a topic that fosters both hostility and cooperation, that concerns both humanity as a whole and single individuals, and that leaves us with both chaos and control.
