Partner 1: EFSAS

After successful research last year, the European Foundation for South Asian Studies (EFSAS) and IRSP are conducting another research project for the second year in a row. EFSAS is an EU accredited, independent, non-profit think tank and policy research institution, located in Amsterdam. Their main focus is on issues relating to international relations, human rights, politics, economics, and security, among others, with a focus on South Asia. 

The research theme will focus on the relationship between environmental degradation and conflicts and the mutual influence between them. The research will center around the current situation in South and Southeast Asia.

Partner 2: The Civil Society Platform for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (CSPPS)

The Civil Society Platform for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (CSPPS) is an international network led by experts, academics, and civil society actors from both the Global North and the Global South. They work together to focus on conflict and crisis prevention, all across the globe. Their main mission is to include civil society participation to ensure coalition building on a state level. 

The research theme will center on the inclusive political decision-making and peace processes in fragile and conflict-affected settings. It will also focus on Sustainable Development Goal 16 and how this relates to a potential peaceful and inclusive promotion within societies in a broader sense.
