The main goal of IRSP is to provide students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge from their studies to practical experiences in conducting professional research under the supervision of experienced IR professors. Furthermore, some collaborations provide a field trip opportunity for students to do on-site research. Students are expected to conduct and present their research in a professional manner by attending relevant workshops. Nonetheless, it is important to keep in mind that, although they are working for an instructing party, the research project is first and foremost a learning experience.
IRSP aims to provide up to three versatile projects on an annual basis. Students are welcome to apply for the research opportunity that best aligns with their expectations and ambitions. During the first IRSP drinks event in November, the committee presents the upcoming projects in order to raise awareness of the opportunities available and to give interested students a clear overview of chances and possibilities of conducting research within IRSP. At a second IRSP drinks event held at the end of the academic year, the students who have conducted the research projects are invited to proudly present their research outcomes to fellow students, staff, and partners.
