Accomodation: Exchange students are usually accommodated at the dormitory at Kapitanskaya street, 3 in shared rooms for 2-3 people. Application for accommodation is included into the Student Exchange Programme Application Form. No permit for allocation is necessary for the accepted exchange and freemover students. 

Russian Language Course offered: SEP students can also take a free Russian language course (8 ECTS, 8 academic hours per week) during the whole exchange period. Classes are organized usually 2 times per week in groups (10–12 people) depending on students' current language skills. If chosen, Russian language course is included into the workload for SEP students.

Visa: To enter Russia for any purpose, most non-Russian citizens must be holders of a valid passport and valid Russian entry visa issued by a local Russian Embassy or Consulate. A Russian Federation visa is a document that permits entry and exit within the dates fixed therein. It is impossible to obtain an entry visa upon arrival, so travellers must apply for their visas well in advance. Please note that the applicant’s passport should be valid for at least 18 months after the beginning of the planned study period! Otherwise such applicant will not obtain a Russian study visa. Please remember that you should plan to exit Russia before your visa expires.

Term: The first semester begins in September and goes till January. On the other hand, the second semester begins February and ends in June.

Sports: Each year, over 5,000 students take part in the sports competitions at SPbU. 300 students are members of 19 SPbU’s teams in 15 sports.
